Carmelita Roybal
Carmelita Roybal was one of two teachers placed on administrative leave from Rio Grande High School in 2003. She refused to remove a No War Sign from her classroom window. The other teach walked out with over 45 students as protest to the removal of Mrs. Roybal. Mrs. Roybal was reinstated with pay and continues to work in the south valley at RGHS to this day.
