Joe Barrientos
Traveling from North Texas to central New Mexico on the educational tip, Joe Barrientos carries influences that stem from an early experience in playing with several bands throughout his youth. Ranging from metal to jazz, this collage of styles influence his ear to open up to a broader form of expression. It wasn't until discovering the international potential of Drum and Bass with it's vast field of contributing outlets that he decided to put down the guitar and drum set for turntables instead. Since 2005, he has expanded genres which incorporate a mix of nu-skool breakz, tech & soulful house, 2-step, down-tempo, and even old school funk which have bred an interesting hybrid on the dance floor. Add the Hip-Hop element with the integral jazzy Drum and Bass set and you get a healthy blend of dance tunes that push the envelope of musical progression.
