Socorro Romo
Socorro Romo has performed her work through the Southwest on stage and in coffeehouses via plays, collaborations, and experimentations. Her poetic voice is a treasure of the American experience. Besides being an active member of the poetry community, Socorro is a licensed Massage Therapist and a graduate from the Southwest Health Career Institute in Massage Therapy.
Socorro first started with independent massage courses in Santa Fe, NM and then worked in Apatzingan and Michoacan. She currently participates in the Promotoras Tradicionales Project, which inspired her to encourage self-directed healing processes for the community at large.
